I have attended this booty several times and feel fair in my remarks. I believe many of the regular sellers feel the same way but are tied financially.
First as a seller you pay a minimum of £20 per pitch and a maximum of £35 cars (vans pay a lot more) if you choose to come earlier-little point considering the hefty £5 public charge for those who do.
Yes, it does have a booking system but if you happen to turn up 5 minutes early they will send you away and tell you to return at your appointed time, even though there is no road parking space and even though there is no one waiting to enter?
The time coordinator has no people or communication skills and is very abrupt and rude-this is not a huge site as it’s in a college car park so it’s not like he’s stressed out? You have to speak to him to enter booked or not. I’ve also witnessed him giving standby’s preferential treatment and not allocating standby’s on a first come first serve basis.
At 4pm the staff start walking around barking at the sellers to start packing up.
The customers are great and actually make it a decent booty but I won’t be going back there to sell!
I headed to Hook road last week and it was excellent, the staff were excellent and so helpful, the pitch was £10 or £12 I got twice the amount of space as Battersea and the customer volume was hectic! You could enter from 7am and it closed when the last seller left around 4pm!
A great carbootsale thats on the surrey sussex border. Lots of bargains, a great team run this carboot and they are very helpful if your new to it. Great food and a seperate picnic area.. Great Bootsale Very Friendly ! Another great carbootsale is the Rusper carboot in sussex, Friendly sellers, great atmosphere and a very helpful team of marshalls ! Great for first time sellers.. Most come for a bargain and an afterrnoon out in the country.
Love this one. Loads of stalls, free parking. Clean toilets (regularly attended). Very well organised, plenty of staff on hand. Only boot sale i have visited, that has an on site police officer every sunday.
Safe, fun and highly recommended.
The carboot is fine, however the organisers are not fair.
They get their security to walk aroiund and tell the sellers off for seling their copies of dvd's where as they say f all to those that come and sell them in masses.
It seems that it's down to Mafia and Ganga, they prepay the organisers and then they get the security to discourage others to sell it, also they have peeps at the gate, looking out for the police.
Litle do they know all their faces and addresses have been made out and all that is needed is for them to piss some one off before the recorded evidence is sent to the police.
this is an excellent carboot sale, its very very big and is mostly carbooters and not traders, although the listing says its free its not its 40p for adults and 20p for children
This an ok car boot... not sure how they get away with claiming to be the biggest in Leicester?! It definately isnt... Croft is much bigger (and better)... far too many traders
A nice car boot as it used to be. very friendly I was a seller and was told to park where ever i liked, a pleasant change from other car boots that i've done in the past. sold a fair bit and i will be back on th 28th. cheers, website needs to be updated
I went here this Sunday...it was busy already by 8am when i arrived..many carboots to buy from ...good parking...easy access off the a3..perfect for me 7miles away...5stars...
